Anxiety is more common today due to a fast-paced lifestyle, social media pressures, economic insecurity, global crises, and high personal expectations. The constant flow of information and comparison to others can make people feel overwhelmed. Additionally, more awareness of mental health issues has led to increased recognition of anxiety, even though it may feel more widespread.

This therapy helps individuals process and reframe distressing memories, reducing their emotional impact. It's effective for anxiety, trauma, and other related issues .
This approach focuses on finding solutions in the present time and learning tools to help you in the moment. This is often for people who don't want to focus on the past or trauma work.
Need help keeping your cool when kids push buttons and boundaries? I can help you resolve those triggers, set routines, and respond more calmly in the moment.
Anxiety, ADHD, and trauma can appear similarly. It can be challenging to know how to help your loved one with out knowing what is actually a struggle for them. ADHD can often present as anxiety as the brain is "always on," they can't fully relax, they have trouble falling asleep, they're scattered and they avoid things.
If you had an anxious parent, you might have grown up to be a problem solver. If you took your problems to your parents, they might yell at you or punish you for bothering them. Our earliest models of what healthy relationships and coping skills are in the first few years of life. They model how we handle conflict, boundaries, communicating with each other and sharing responsibilities at home. We are laying the foundation of trust so when we make mistakes, the kids know we will handle it in a healthy way. There may be consequences but it's important they know we can handle the problem in a calmer manner than our parents did. That way when they get older, they are more likely to trust us when they really mess things up.
Often when I bring up the butterfly hug calming technique, people give me a look. You want me to do what with my hands? I'm not into butterflies, this is weird!
